Installation

System requirements, package managers, and environment setup for the clawrun CLI.

Requirements

  • Node.js 20 or later

The deploy command will also check for the Vercel CLI and attempt to install it automatically if missing. If you prefer to install it manually:

npm install -g vercel

Package managers

npm install -g clawrun

Verify the installation:

clawrun --version

Instance directory

ClawRun stores all instance data under ~/.clawrun/. You can override this by setting the CLAWRUN_HOME environment variable:

export CLAWRUN_HOME=/path/to/custom/dir

Updating

npm install -g clawrun@latest

CLI

The clawrun command-line tool for deploying, managing, and interacting with AI agent instances.

deploy

Scaffold a new instance with interactive setup, or upgrade an existing one. Handles preset selection, agent configuration, channel wiring, network policy, and Vercel deployment.
